Dear citizens, due to the increased frequency of cybercrimes, as well as new types of fraud, remember:
representatives of law enforcement agencies and government organizations NEVER CALL MESSENGERS! (exceptions are if you gave your contact number to an employee yourself and know him personally).
Under no pretexts should you provide passport data to outsiders, or provide information about bank card details or one-time passwords received on a mobile phone, even if the call is from persons posing as law enforcement officers, medical and banking institutions, cellular operators, employees of public utilities or telecommunications companies.;
The mobile operator's application can only be downloaded from the Google Play, App Store, and App Gallery stores, and not from links to websites sent to you by strangers.;
never apply for loans at the request or demand of third parties.;
do not conduct any monetary transactions through ATMs, as well as online banking systems, according to instructions received by phone or messenger;
do not become a courier for scammers by collecting funds from other citizens who find themselves in an unpleasant life situation.
If you receive a questionable call, immediately end the conversation and contact the police at 102.
The most relevant criminal schemes:
An attacker calls a landline phone and informs them about the need for remote renewal (renegotiation) of a service agreement, replacement of outdated equipment, prompt reconciliation of meter indicators, etc. At the same time, for verification and convenience, it requires providing personal data (passport identification number, mobile phone number, and other personal data). At this time, in parallel, a call is received on the victim's mobile phone (usually via the Viber messenger).
allegedly from a law enforcement officer or a bank, who reports that the victim is currently communicating with the scammers on a landline phone and that the conversation needs to be interrupted. After that, the "pseudo-law enforcement officer" acts according to a standard fraudulent scheme and reports that:
loans were issued in the name of the victim;
Terrorist activities or military operations in Ukraine are financed from the settlement accounts of the victim.;
It is necessary to assist law enforcement agencies in catching scammers.;
Due to the fact that a criminal case has been opened against the victim and a search will be conducted at his place of residence in the near future, it is urgently necessary to secure the accumulated funds, for which they must be declared or transferred to a special "secure" account.;
provide assistance to other victims of fraud who
, due to their age or physical characteristics, cannot independently contact the bank to transfer cash to a secure account.
After hearing everything, the victim experiences an emotional shock. After all, it's hard to believe that this is all a well-planned fraudulent scheme. The victims, following the scammers, follow their instructions and faithfully do everything they require of them, even selling their own homes and transferring the proceeds to accounts provided by the attackers.
*Advertising on the Internet offering to invest (use) Your savings with income on "extremely favorable" terms (innovative means of earning, earnings on the stock exchange, purchase of cryptocurrencies, investments with increased returns on accounts and deposits).
*Purchase of goods on the Internet at a lower-than-market price, including prepayment to the seller for booking.
*Messages (advertising, call) about winning the lottery (or other drawing) with the condition that you must first transfer money to receive it.
REMEMBER, law enforcement officers, medical and banking institutions, cellular operators, employees of government organizations and enterprises, utilities or telecommunications companies NEVER find out your personal information by phone!
